Last night, five teenagers were hospitalised and quarantined at the Ballarat Base Hospital with meningococcal disease.
Jeremy Little was the first to be diagnosed with the disease at 6pm. His mother rushed him to the hospital after displaying symptoms of an intense headache, vomitting and high fever. Jeremy Little’s girlfriend Monica Templeton was rushed to the hospital two hours later. Another three teenagers David Hughes, Erica Singh and Jordan Reed were admitted and quarantined in hospital by 3pm the next afternoon after coming down with the disease.
The teenagers attend Sebastapol College and travel to school on the same bus.
